Baby Curls

"Baby Curls" is an event created for the purpose of providing a platform for students to ask questions and receive advice on hair care management and how it relates to their black/brown identity. One of the challenges of transitioning into college as a freshman, especially for curly/coiled hair women and femmes, is learning how to manage your own hair.

We will open with an introduction on hair types and understanding the unique qualities of each type of hair, followed by talks from local Baltimore natural hair salons, and a Q & A Panel with students. Afterwards, students will be invited to walk around our Hair Fair, where they can continue hair conversations with specialists and learn about braiding, accessorizing, and making their own natural products. Bring your own products for our product swap table! Snacks and refreshments served.
