Exhibitions at MICA: The First 100 Years

A new exhibition in the Decker Library is the work of Shelby Stierhoff '18, who worked with MICA exhibition archives this past Summer as an independent study for Art History.

Stierhoff has selected documents to highlight exhibitions held at the Maryland Institute, ranging from the annual industrial fairs of the 19th century to the lively 1920s, which saw the very first exhibition in the U.S.A. of works by Henri Matisse, right in MICA's Main Building!

Join us for an opening reception on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibit runs through September.

Image information: two seals used by the Maryland Institute. Left - 1854; Right - 1925.
