Maryland Institute College of Art's National Art Education Student Chapter is proud to be hosting the Graduate Research in Art Education: Where Rubber Meets Road conference on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 9:00am-4:00pm
“Where Rubber Meets Road” has become an idiom that defines a moment of truth. Teachers reflect daily on their pedagogical practice. When put to the test, an educational theory either works or it doesn’t. The application of theory is something that defines education as a practice. Join us as we hear graduate researchers from across the country describe how they have put educational theories to the test.
This free conference will include two panel discussions and break-out groups, as well as lunch, where we can continue the conversation. Daniel Barney, art educator, artist, and author, will be giving a keynote presentation. This conference serves as a pre-conference to the National Art Education Convention in New York City, March 1-4th.
