Timed to open with the eagerly awaited launch of JetBlue from National Airport, "MICA Takes Flight" will showcase the work of D.C. metro-area alumni, from Friday, Oct. 29–Monday, Feb. 28, at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport's Gallery Walk in Terminal A. The show includes approximately 56 works by 30 artists.
Building upon the successes of two well-received alumni, student and faculty shows at Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) in the past year, the National Airport exhibition will feature small sculpture, fiber, ceramic and illustration “packages” in six elevated glass cases, and the corridor walls will house 2-D works. The exhibition is coordinated by the Office of Alumni Relations and curated by Michelle Weatherly ’98.
